Anna Benrick, Ph.D.
University of Gothenburg, Sweden
Dr. Anna Benrick defended her thesis regarding cytokines in metabolic functions in 2008 at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. One year later she moved to the Garvan Institute for medical research in Sydney, Australia to work a postdoc in Greg Cooney’s lab. In 2011, Dr. Benrick started her current position at the University of Gothenburg where she combines her knowledge in metabolism and diabetes with acupuncture research

Iréne Lund, Ph.D.
Karolinska Institute, Sweden
Dr. Iréne Lund is a Senior Lecturer at Karolinska Institutet and her fields of research interest concern physiological and pain relieving effects of acupuncture but also of sensory stimulation modalities like massage and TENS; sex and gender differences in pain and the measurement process in ordered categorical data analysis.

Manuel Maliqueo, Ph.D.
University of Gothenburg, Sweden
Dr. Manuel Maliqueo is a Chilean researcher and has been worked in the field of reproductive endocrinology since 2000. He is an Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine, University of Chile and currently working as Post doc in University of Gothenburg, Sweden. His research is focused in the role of androgens on reproductive and metabolic function in women and in the mechanism of development of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and their possible strategies of treatment. Dr. Maliqueo’s interest in research is the role of androgens in the fetal programming and the impact of them in the origin of PCOS and metabolic syndrome.

Thomas Lundeberg, MD, Ph.D.
Karolinska Institute University Hospital, Sweden
Dr. Thomas Lundeberg was born in 1953 in Stockholm, Sweden. He studied and finished his MD degree at Karolinska Institutet in 1981. His Ph.D. in Physiology on a thesis entitled "Vibratory stimulation for the alleviation of Pain” at Karolinska Institutet in 1983. His Post Doctoral program was at Nobel laureate Prof. Rita Levi-Montalcini Institute of Neurobiologia, Rome, Italy, 1984. He served as a Head of Pain and Integrative Sensory Physiology group at Karolinska Institutet from 1988 to 2003. He also served as a Professor in Physiology at Karolinska Institutet in 2001 and General Medical Council at United Kingdom in 2007. He has been serving as a head of Senior Consultant Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine (Karolinska Hospital and Danderyds Hospital) since 1998 and also serving as a head of Complementary medicine education unit Sabbatsbergs Hospital in Stockholm since 2003.
